Possible Task List:
Landscaping: This includes leaf removal and working on the various flower beds. We have some equipment but if you are able bring your own so what we have will go farther.
General Cleanup: Nearly all areas of the camp need a good Spring Cleaning and inspection for problems/issues we might not be aware of.
Buildings: There are four buildings that need to be brought back to a condition of useability ... by June, Winn Cottage and at least two rooms in West Virginia need to be available. In addition the other two rooms in West Virginia and Brookside 2 & 3 need to be brought online as soon as possible. Initially, this will include rearranging beds and other furniture, deep cleaning, and setting up for use. This will be followed up with additional renovations. Currently, we have a "sponsor" for Brookside 2 ... but if anyone (individual, family, church) would like to sponsor any of the other spaces please contact admin@craigsprings.org.
Salem: Room # 2 was damaged by a serious water leak. While the building will be available for use, the repairs on this room continue. Any assistance with funds or labor will be appreciated.
Screening: There are screens on doors and windows that need to be patched or replaced, it would be good if we knew someone was coming to do this to confirm that we have a sufficient amount of supplies.
Clubhouse Road: At least one tractor will be at the camp for SWW, if you have skills and/or equipment to add to this effort it will be utilized.
Ceiling Fans: We still have a few fans that need to be installed ... need to have basic electrical skills.
Small Engine Mechanic: Service, Repair or determine if useful for parts or need to be disposed of.
Firewood Area: Some of the firewood is stacked, but some needs to be split, and the area needs additional clean-up. Plus wood from downed trees over the winter needs to be collected, split if necessary, and stacked.
Painting: The stage area of the Glasshouse needs to be painted as well as the entire Glasshouse ceiling needs. There is also so some spot scraping and painting that needs to be done on the Glasshouse, Central and other Buildings.
Siding Assistance: Need a couple people to help with installing Hardi-Board Siding on Central where rotted siding has been removed ... no skill necessary, just need help holding during installation.
Craft Room ... we are still working on relocating some supplies to a separate storage area and determining which supplies should be disposed of or given away,
Clean and repair horseshoe pits.
While this list is not comprehensive, it is intended to give you an idea of what to expect if you attend any Work Weekend.
Some of the cabins are sponsored by Congregations or Individuals in the Region. These sponsors will have their own list of tasks that are generally not included on this list.
