Work Weekends
Craig Springs sponsors two work weekends annually. The first is in the Spring and the weekend with the first Sunday of May. The second is Fall Work Weekend and is the weekend prior to Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day. For 2024 Spring Work Weekend will be May 3-5, 2024. and Fall Work Weekend will be October 11-13, 2024. Meals are served from supper on Friday through Lunch on Sunday. You are welcome to attend all or part of the weekend. Links to the online registration and task lists will be posted below as we approach each event.
If you would like to create your own work weekend, or work days contact the Camp Administrator at admin@craigsprings.org.
Fall Work Weekend - October 11-13, 2024
Possible Task List:
Landscaping: This includes leaf removal and working on the various flower beds. We have some equipment but if you are able bring your own so what we have will go farther.
Screening: There are screens on doors and windows that need to be patched or replaced, it would be good if we knew someone was coming to do this to confirm that we have a sufficient amount of supplies.
Ceiling Fans: We still have some fans that need to be installed ... need to have basic electrical skills.
Clubhouse: This project can include both inside and outside work. The Campfire area needs picnic tables repaired or replaced. Benches around the campfire could be added as well. The Clubhouse itself needs to be thoroughly cleaned, some minor repairs to be made, and some work on the bathroom floor.
Small Engine Mechanic: Service, Repair or determine if useful for parts or need to be disposed of.
Firewood Area: Most of the firewood is stacked, but some needs to be split, and the area needs to be cleaned up.
As we get closer to Fall Work Weekend and know the current status of projects currently underway there may be other specific projects added to the list. Also, some of the cabins are sponsored by Congregations in the Region. These sponsors will have their own list of tasks that are probably not included on this list.
